What's the difference between desktop and web?

Both run the same chart engine and share one account. The desktop app adds multi-monitor detachable windows, native OS notifications, offline cache and lower-latency streaming on supported feeds. Prefer no install? The web app stays always up to date.

Does the download cost anything?

The desktop app is free to download and install, with no subscription required. A free account already covers interactive charts, watchlists and basic alerts; upgrade only if you want more layouts, active alerts and intraday depth.

Are the installers safe?

Windows installers are code-signed by TradingView Inc., the macOS app is Apple-notarized, and Linux packages are GPG-signed — with a SHA-256 checksum next to every release so you can verify before installing.
